“Changemakers” Book Launch & Mural Celebration

Today is an exciting celebration launch Changemakers: African American Leaders in San Francisco Who Made a Difference, an illustrated book of 95 biographies of civic leaders depicted on the exterior murals of the Ella Hill Hutch Community Center — will commemorate the 20th anniversary of the original murals commissioned in 1999 by activist Leonard “Lefty” Gordon and former President of SF Board of Supervisors Wendy Nelder and funded by Mayor Brown’s Neighborhood Beautification Fund. 

Come join us for this exciting celebration from 4 – 4:45 at Ella Hill Hutch Community Center and from 4:45 – 6 will be outside at the Buchanan Mall.

San Francisco District Attorney Debate

Tonight the Bar Association of San Francisco and University of San Francisco School of Law will be hosting a debate between the four District Attorney Candidates at the USF McLaren Conference Center.  Come and hear their insights on and visions for criminal justice for San Francisco.

Tonight at the Koret Auditorium at the Main Library, Low Level. Reception starts at 5 – 5:45 pm. Award-winning author Renee Watson will be there giving a presentation on The Miracle of Joy: How Stories Heal.
