As a DCYF Youth Advisor, you will serve on a body of youth who are dedicated to informing decisions that are made on behalf of the children, youth, and their families in San Francisco. Your role as a Youth Advisor includes but is not limited to providing feedback and recommendations to DCYF on activities, initiatives and projects based on the department’s planning and funding cycle. The time commitment is ten hours per month, over the course of the year you can expect to attend one two-hour monthly meeting (minimum of ten meetings per year). Additional participation between meetings may include workgroups, emails, outreach, attending DCYF funded or sponsored events as representatives of the department and ongoing community engagement as desired. Through this process you will gain knowledge surrounding the programs and strategies funded by DCYF and learn about the many resources available to families and youth in San Francisco.
