Scholarships available for groups to attend SFSU Summer Youth – Kayaking Program

The SFSU Summer Community Youth Sailing and Paddling Program offers 100% scholarships to groups (only) for our three hour introduction to Kayaking and the Lake Environment program at Lake Merced in San Francisco (see attached flyer). This is a shortened version of our week long paddling camps at Lake Merced, designed especially for members of youth groups. It provides a fun educational introduction to kayaking safety and paddling techniques and a learning opportunity about the lake’s wildlife and environment. Certified instructors and two-person kayaks are provided along with life jackets. Programs are offered M-F 1pm-4pm at Lake Merced near SFSU. Full scholarships are available so low income and disabled youth can go at no cost. Scholarships are provided to organized groups who have a preponderance of youth from lower income or inner city families. This is an ideal program for youth groups that want to have a short, healthy, educational, outdoor activity for their members who are 8 to 15 years old.  For more information or to set up a group reservation, contact David Wiener, sail4fun@sfsu.edu.
