Calling all youth advocates and community organizers!
2017-2018 San Francisco Youth Commission Applications Now Open Until April 21st
We are happy to announce that applications are now open for the 2017-2018 Youth Commission term. Do you know a youth who is interested in local government or in identifying the needs of young people in order to provide input on city legislation? The Youth Commission is the perfect place for them to grow their skills and abilities as policy advocates!
The San Francisco Youth Commission is a body of 17 San Franciscans between the ages of 12 and 23. Created by the voters under a 1995 amendment to the City Charter, the commission is responsible for advising the Board of Supervisors and Mayor on policies affecting young people. To see a list of current youth commission priorities like lowering the voting age to 16, promoting free MUNI for youth, and improving youth-police relations, please visit our site at:www.sfgov.org/yc
We are asking for support getting word out about this opportunity to as many young leaders in San Francisco as possible! We want youth to know that they can have a say in what goes on in city hall and make a change in their communities! We have included here a copy of our application.
