Engage San Francisco (ESF), a university-wide initiative at the University of San Francisco, is pleased to share a new position announcement. The Associate Director for the Engage San Francisco Literacy Project is a full-time, 12 month, on-going position that will work to support the vision, values and goals of ESF in partnership with the Western Addition neighborhood in San Francisco to develop, implement and assess a program to promote K-5 literacy. This position reports to the Director of Engage San Francisco and is a staff member at the Leo T. McCarthy Center for Public Service and the Common Good
Interested candidates are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the Values of the McCarthy Center and the Vision and Goals of Engage San Francisco. Note that the job requirements include demonstrated experience in K-5 literacy, including the ability to develop and adapt curriculum;  the ability to work with faculty, students and K-12 administrators/ educators;  leadership experience implementing a high quality educational program;  high level of cultural competency and humility including a sensitivity to issues of race, class and the ethical dilemmas that may arise from the development of strong reciprocal campus and community partnerships.
