EXAMPLES OF IMPORTANT AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
• Attends daily roll call meetings to receive assignments.
• Rides SFMTA vehicles on designated lines and at specified times.
• Completes required daily report forms detailing completion of activities assigned.
• Works closely with San Francisco Unified School District personnel and School Resource Officers.
• Monitors specific transit lines around various school sites.
• Prepares reports and notifies supervisor on incidents of violence and disturbances.
• Requests assistance as necessary and as appropriate.
• Observes and reports any type of suspicious activity and/or behavior.
• Interacts with and provides customer service to SFMTA Operators, the public, and others to reduce violence and disruptive behavior on SFMTA vehicles.
• Performs community outreach and participates in community-violence reduction efforts including presentations at various schools.
• Participates in and successfully completes Public Service Aide Training and Security Awareness Training.
• Performs other duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Possession of a high school diploma or GED equivalent; AND
1. Possession of a high school diploma or GED equivalent; AND
2
a. Six (6) months of community service, AND MUST be referred through a community-based organization; OR
b. One (1) year of verifiable paid or unpaid work experience; AND
3. At least 21 years of age.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Six (6) months (equivalent to 1,000 hours) of verifiable experience working or volunteering with substance users, homeless populations, and/or harm reduction programs. |
