Dear Community Partners,

The Springboard Initiative has identified an opportunity to increase the number of African Americans employed in the technology industry. Collective Impact has partnered with Springboard to provide case management services designed to support youth development. This service will be led by culturally competent staff able to include social-emotional strength-building through positive supports and leadership development.

 

Collective Impact | Mo’MAGIC provides a continuum of services from goal setting to workforce development; the case management team will offer a safe and supportive destination point for African American program participants, age 18 to 24, to receive mentoring and positive coaching, through group and one-to-one supports as part of the Springboard Initiative. The goal of the partnership is to support African American young people, underrepresented in the technology sector, secure successful employment in that industry.

 

Springboard Initiative participants will receive a monthly stipend and be matched with a mentor in the tech field; program members will take courses at Community College of San Francisco (CCSF) and complete workforce readiness training.  After successful completion of the eight-month training, program participants will be placed in a six-month salaried apprenticeship position with one of Springboard’s high tech partner employers with the continued support of Collective Impact and mentor involvement.  Upon completion of the six-month apprenticeship, an evaluation will be conducted for permanent employment placement.
