Want to have fun while making a difference in the lives of deserving Western Addition Community youth?

Join Comedian, Actor, and Writer, Hannibal Thompson, (“Comedy is Life”) for a day of fun, laughter, and hope at a fundraiser for the Plaza East Summer Youth Program.
The “Summer Kickoff,” scheduled for June 4th from 12-4pm, will be held at the Plaza East Apartment Homes, located in the Western Addition Neighborhood of San Francisco at 1300 Buchanan Street.

Each year the Plaza East Resident Council sponsors a Summer Youth Program that provides free lunches, educational activities, arts and crafts and three major field trips for disadvantaged neighborhood youth. This year’s scheduled trips include outings to Six Flags Great America, Six Flags Discovery Kingdom and the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk.

Plaza East Residents Council President, Martha Hollins (affectionately known by all as “Ms. Martha”), has volunteered her time for the past 10 years. Ms. Martha works tirelessly to ensure that children in the community have a safe, fun and adventurous summer every year.  She has often reached into her pockets, spending her own money to make sure local youth have access to enriching summer fun.

This year, Ms. Martha and Plaza East needs your help to ensure the Youth at Plaza East continue to have access to field trips, art supplies, and books.

Your generous monetary donation will also help us provide cooking supplies for the youth culinary program taught by Ms. Martha. The class teaches children how to safely make tasty, healthy snacks for themselves.

The Summer Program is scheduled to start June 6th and ends August 5th.  It runs Monday through Friday11am – 6pm.

Don’t forget, that’s June 4th at the Plaza East Apartment Homes at 1300 Buchanan Street.  Ms. Martha and the parents of these children would be most appreciative of
your support.
