Black Girls CODE is excited to share two wonderful summer opportunities with you.  Please review the eligibility details below and apply if interested.  Note that these are not Black Girls CODE led events, but exciting partner opportunities that we thought might interest you.  Best of luck!
9th, 10th and 11th graders
APPLY BY MAY 24
Verizon Innovative Learning is launching a new Summer Entrepreneurship Experience: a residential program for high school students. During this program, students will learn about designing, launching and starting a new business, including how to create an effective “pitch” presentation; and technology skills needed to create mobile apps that solve problems in your community.No prior tech or business knowledge is required to apply. Students will stay overnight for 3½ weeks at either The University of Texas in Austin or at Fordham University in New York.

Recent College Grads

Viacom is looking for students to apply for their 2016 Internship Program.  Viacom internships expose students to all levels of the company, giving them the chance to experience innovation through many different facets of our work.

  • Build and maintain sites for the Music & Entertainment Division – thinkcomedycentral.commtv.com, blogs and more
  • Produce consumer-facing products, including apps for iOS, Android and Xbox
  • Create and test digital products for a variety of Viacom brands, like web and mobile games for Nickelodeon

Launched in 2011, Black Girls CODE (BGC) is devoted to showing the world that black girls can code, and do so much more. By reaching out to the community through workshops and after school programs, Black Girls CODE introduces computer programming and technology to girls from underrepresented communities in technology areas such as web design, robotics, gaming, mobile app development and more.
