The Superior Court of California, County of Alameda is accepting applications for the position of Student Assistant (University Representative – JusticeCorps). The Student Assistant performs recruitment and support to Bay Area Project members; collaborates with the four Bay Area partner courts, one non-profit legal aid partner and the community service programs in several colleges and universities; and performs other related duties as assigned.

The Bay Area JusticeCorps is a regional project sponsored by the Superior Court of California, County of Alameda in partnership with the Superior Court of San Francisco, Superior Court of San Mateo, Superior Court of Santa Clara and Bay Area Legal Aid of Contra Costa County. JusticeCorps project members are volunteer college students who assist in court-based, self-help legal access centers in the four courts. There are currently six (6) part-time job vacancies.

The Student Assistants will work at their assigned university campus.

This is a limited-term, part-time grant-funded position that may end in May 2017. This position is not eligible to receive benefits.

 Minimum Qualifications:

Must be a currently enrolled sophomore, junior, senior student or graduate student at the University of California, Berkeley, California State University, East Bay, San Francisco State University, Stanford University or San Jose State University for the 2016-2016-2017 Academic Year.

Completion of a term of service with JusticeCorps or other AmeriCorps programs is desirable.
