Hello Secondary Pathways Members,
I want to share that SFUSD School Health Programs Office is seeking candidates to do a term of AmeriCorps service in schools next year. AmeriCorps Members work with Mentoring For Success to mentor African American youth and support School Social Workers in coordinating Mentoring For Success and supporting Positive Behavior Interventions at Schools.
AmeriCorps Members must be 18 years old to participate, and if they attended San Francisco schools they are given a higher consideration through the hiring process. Members offer full time service and in exchange they gain extensive training and support, a monthly stipend, health insurance, and upon completion of their term of service with SFUSD, they earn an education award that may be used towards loan payoff or tuition for college.
Please share this opportunity with the young people you work with who are looking to jump start their careers. I’m attaching a flyer and will add it to the shared drive. Feel free to get in touch if you have any questions about this opportunity.
