Gateway is looking for a talented, passionate educator to teach an Ethnic Studies course at Gateway beginning in January 2016. Gateway is offering this course because of our shared belief that students should see themselves, their communities, and the issues that matter to them reflected in our classes. Ethnic Studies also aligns with our goal for students to become advocates for themselves and their communities.
The posting is attached, but a couple details to note:
-We’re open to considering someone without a CA teaching credential if they have other relevant experience.
-The commitment is three days/week, 3.5 hours of teaching time/week, plus prep/grading.
-This position could be combined with other opportunities, including a maternity leave position in the spring.
-This is an unusual opportunity to work with young people on topics about which they are incredibly passionate.
