The San Francisco Teacher Residency (SFTR) is recruiting aspiring teachers who are committed to social justice and improving equity and access for San Francisco’s children.
Through SFTR, student teachers (known as “residents”) earn a teaching credential and a Master’s degree from Stanford University or the University of San Francisco at significantly reduced costs. We also provide free healthcare, a yearlong classroom apprenticeship in San Francisco, a teaching position with the San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) upon successful completion of our program, three years of intensive new-teacher coaching support, and $15,000 in housing grants.
SFTR is a partnership between SFUSD, the University of San Francisco, Stanford University, and the United Educators of San Francisco. Our mission is to improve academic achievement and social-emotional development for students in San Francisco’s public schools by recruiting, preparing, and supporting highly effective and equity-centered teachers.
SFTR is now accepting applications for our 2016-17 Cohort. Learn more at: www.sfteacherresidency.org
