Program Background:


The 1649 Accountant program was established to ensure excellent performance in the City and County of San Francisco’s Accountant Series.  Overall responsibility for the 1649 Program resides with the Office of the Controller.  Interns are trained in an 18-month period and mentored by higher-level, experienced accountants throughout the City and County.  To provide Interns with optimum training and experience city-wide, they participate in two 9-month rotations, generally at two different departments.

Minimum Qualifications:
Possession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university WITH eighteen (18) semester units or twenty-four (24) quarter units of coursework in accounting at time of appointment.
