- ‘Profitability Tactics for Small Retailers’ on Tuesday, May 20th, from 1:00pm-5:00pm at West Bay Conference Center (1290 Fillmore Street) presented by Bruce Sanders. This workshop provides techniques built on the basics of sound business practice to give store-based retailers a special edge, with a focus on how to complete with larger retailers and e-commerce merchants. - ‘Lease Agreement’ on Wednesday, May 21st, from 6:00pm-8:00pm at West Bay Conference Center (1290 Fillmore Street). Low income small business owners who attend the workshop may also schedule a follow-up appointment for a one-on-one lease review and consultation with an experienced business attorney of up to one hour during special neighborhood business law clinic days to be announced. Under the Invest In Neighborhoods initiative, the Office of Economic and Workforce Development is piloting Biz Fit SF, a small business strengthening program. The goal of the program is to strengthen commercial corridors by providing concentrated and tailored technical assistance to address individual needs of existing businesses and ensure that they are healthy and can grow in the context of the neighborhood landscape.
