The BEETS Program is hiring teens 15-19 years old in San Francisco for the spring 2014 session! Our internship is a great opportunity for your students to get involved with the community, learn new skills, and get paid.  The commitment is about 5-10hrs/week and we’ve given school internship credit to past students.

The BEETS (Band of Environmentally Educated and Employable Teens) program is a green job training internship.  We are looking for teens who are interested in: working outdoors to maintain our community gardens, motivated to learn new skills, and positively impact the community.
Our BEETS interns:
  • Maintain community and school gardens in the Western Addition
  • Learn critical job skills (resume/cover letter writing, job search, interviewing, etc.)
  • Assist our elementary school garden classes
  • Attend field trips and educational opportunities
  • Earn ~$800/session

Eligibility:

·       15-19 years of age on January 28, 2014

·       Living in San Francisco (priority given to those living in the Western Addition)

·       Interested in gaining experience in basic horticulture, environmental education, and basic job skills

·       Able to commit to the entire spring 2014 session: January 28-May 1, 2014

·      Available: Tuesday and Thursday 3:45pm-5:45pm and 1-2 Saturdays/Month (Additional hours weekday afternoons as scheduled)
