SOE Dean Gives “Bad Teacher!” Talk

The University of San Francisco (USF) invites you to an evening with Kevin Kumashiro, new dean of the USF School of Education. Dr. Kumashiro is a thought-leader in urban education, and an award-winning author whose books include Bad Teacher!: How Blaming Teachers Distorts the Bigger Picture.

The event will include discussion of current debates on educational reform that place blame on public school teachers, teacher unions, and teacher educators for all that is wrong with schools, with little critical questioning of real systematic problems. Free & open to the public. All are welcome.

When: Tuesday, Nov.12; 4:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Where: McLaren Conference Center, Room 250, on the USF campus (2130 Fulton Street).

About: Dean Kumashiro’s presentation will include discussion of solutions to problems plaguing our nation’s schools and suggestions for ways to see the bigger picture when it comes to education.

Info: Free and open to the public. For more information, please visit the website at www.usfca.edu/diversity.
