CPU members.   There will be a Community Partners United (CPU) meeting this Thursday, November 7 at 1:00PM at AAACC at 762 Fulton.  This will follow the Mo Magic meeting at 11:00.  I hope you can attend and provide input on the events coming up.
The first event is the Saturday, November 23 Thanksgiving Dinner at John Muir School.  The Beacon Center is sponsoring the event and CPU will provide $600 for food.  There will be entertainment and food and raffles for free turkeys.  Tulsi Pi is the lead.  Contact her if you can help tpi@ymcasf.org.
Saturday, December 7 is the Card and Wreath making party at the Community Center at Hayes Valley South.  Community Grows is the sponsor and CPU is providing $200.  Contact Nora Brereton for more information nora@communitygrows.org
Friday, December 6 is the Hayes Valley Block Party from 6-9.  CPU will be providing the entertainment at the north end of Patricia’s Green at Hayes and Octavia.  We are renting a stage and hiring some Mo Magic older teens as stage hands and running the sound system.  Besides choral groups and Christmas Carolers we have lined up a brass quintet from the Conservatory of Music. Horus Tolson will be the producer.  We could use your help.  Please contact me.
The food box program will go on.  We have already gotten money from Kaiser Permanente, Castro Lions Club, Lee Walkup and others.  We will fill the bags on Thursday, December 19 and 20 and distribute them on the 19 and 21.  This will happen at the West Bay Center—10-2   We could use help picking up the food to put in the bags, stuffing the bags and helping the police distribute the bags.  Let me know if you can help.  See you on Thursday.
