Hope you’re having a terrific first few weeks of school. There is a LOT going on, at all the schools, in all your organizations & communities, and across the district, and a lot of great energy for the new year.
One of the exciting things we’re working on is the “first annual” Family Engagement Institute – coming right up on Saturday, Sept. 28, from 8:30am-3pm at Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Middle School! Attached is a trilingual “Save the Date” postcard which you can use to get the word out. (We’re working on a proper flyer/reg form and hung up slightly on some technicalities of the online registration – but this will be done early next week.)
The planning team for the Institute includes many partners from the Family Engagement Network, so we decided not to convene the whole Network until after the Institute, to try and avoid the too-many-meetings problem.
Next week, in addition to the flyer & registration form, we’ll send out more information about the kinds of workshops, resource fair, and activities for kids that we’ll have at the Institute.
In the meantime, let me know if you have any questions!
