Dear Community Partners,

CommunityGrows is currently hiring San Francisco teens (aged 15-19) for fall 2013 BEETS session!!!


BEETS (Band of Environmentally Educated and Employable Teens) is a green job training program for 15-19 year olds, primarily living in the Western Addition neighborhood of San Francisco.


BEETS gain experience:

  • working in community gardens and parks

  • designing, building, and maintaining gardens

  • learning basic horticulture and garden maintenance

  • assisting and teaching garden classes

Interns attend job training and career development workshops, educational opportunities, and field trips throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.  Interns are paid a ~ $8/Hour stipend during their 100-Hour Internship.

Eligibility Requirements:

·       15-19 years of age on September 10, 2013

·       Living in San Francisco (priority given to those living in the Western Addition)

·       Interested in gaining experience in Basic Horticulture & Garden Maintenance and Environmental Education

·       Able to commit to the entire fall 2013 session: September 10 – December 12, 2013

·      Available: Tuesday and Thursday 3:30pm-5:30pm and 1-2 Saturdays/Month (Additional hours weekday afternoons as scheduled)
