CommunityGrows is currently hiring San Francisco Teens (aged 15-19) for Summer 2013 BEETS Session!!!

 

 

 

BEETS (Band of Environmentally Educated and Employable Teens) is a green job training program for 15-19 year olds, primarily living in the Western Addition neighborhood of San Francisco.

BEETS gain experience:

 

  • working in community gardens and parks
  • designing, building, and maintaining gardens
  • learning basic horticulture and garden maintenance
  • assisting and teaching garden classes
Interns attend job training and career development workshops, educational opportunities, and field trips throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.  Interns are 

Paid a ~ $8/Hour Stipend during their 100-Hour Internship.

 

2013 Summer Program Eligibility Requirements:

 

·       15-19 years of age on June 11, 2013

·       Living in San Francisco (priority given to those living in the Western Addition)

·       Interested in gaining experience in Basic Horticulture & Garden Maintenance and Environmental Education

·       Able to commit to the Entire Summer 2013 Session: June 11 – August 8, 2013

·      Available: Monday – Friday 12pm – 3pm and 2 Saturdays/Month (Additional Hours, as scheduled)
