JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Professional Relations Network Liaison is responsible for promoting the professional interests of Delta Dental and affiliated companies by maintaining a strong network of participating providers. This position assists in the retention, maintenance and ongoing improvement of the Network dentists and facilities; responding to and resolving all questions from Network dentists. Assists field recruiters with complex practice concerns and participates in the development, planning and implementation of departmental goals and corporate projects.         
Duties include:
·         Servicing network providers within assigned geographic territory; tracking and reporting on ongoing activities that support network maintenance via computer application tracking mechanisms on a regular basis, including on site visits to the practices
·         Maintaining a stable network of providers and meeting or exceeding cost of care requirements by reviewing cost of care and aberrant practice patterns and communicating with the network dentists to advise of any outlier issues
·         Ensuring that the provider network size and stability meets client growth needs by reducing provider turnover while maintaining a profitable network
·         Building and maintaining provider relationships to retain solid contractual participation status; providing regular reports to the management team and receiving updated roster information to maintain current provider files
·         Resolving provider claims issues, complaints and service requests
·         Facilitating outreach projects to the professional community
·         Attending appropriate meetings to represent the interest of the PR department and the dentist network
·         Performing miscellaneous duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
·         A high school diploma or GED. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred
·         Three years dental office administration and/or back office dental assisting experience preferred
·         The ability to obtain and maintain sufficient credit to manage related job expenses including, but not limited to, applying to and being approved by a third party charge card agency to receive the company’s corporate charge card
·         Ability to travel, including overnight stays; airplane travel required; must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to drive a motor vehicle
·         Strong organizational/time management and project management skills and multi-tasking abilities
·         Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
·         Ability to handle conflict/issue resolution
·         Ability to collect, collate and analyze data that pertains to network demographics and costs, using Microsoft Excel, Sharepoint sites, Onyx, etc
·         Knowledge of enterprise products, policies, procedures and practices
·         Knowledge of Current Dental Terminology (“CDT”) codes and dental nomenclature
·         Must be able to understand fairly complex written and oral instructions
·         Ability to clearly present written information and findings
·         Ability to clearly communicate concepts
·         Strong telephone skills
·         The ability to interact well with co-workers and outside contacts
·         Overnight travel is required.
·         PC literacy; MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); working knowledge of Internet and Intranet, Sharepoint, Onyx
·         Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, climb and lift up to 25 pounds
