7th Annual Mardi Gras San Francisco Style

Fat Tuesday Celebration Kicks off at Fillmore Plaza

The Village Project, The Fillmore Center and Mayor’s Office of Economic & Workforce Development (MOEWD) are proud to present the 7Th Annual Mardi Gras San Francisco Style – Fat Tuesday in the Fillmore on February 12, 2013. The celebration will commence with a free kick-off blues concert in the Fillmore Plaza from 5 to 7 pm.

This year’s 7th Annual Mardi Gras San Francisco StyleFat Tuesday in the Fillmore will once again bring the San Francisco Fillmore Music District to life with colorful events that include a masquerade ball, a free concert , street artists, performers, and a New Orleans-style processional.

Guests will also enjoy food, drink and other specials at numerous Fillmore restaurants, clubs and businesses. A plethora of eclectic delectable eats will be available to satisfy every palate, whether it’s homemade cookies and ice cream at Bumzy’s Cookies, chicken and waffles at Gussie’s, Yoshi’s Japanese, or Ethiopian cuisine from Rasselas and Sheba Lounge.

The Mardi Gras celebration, produced by The Village Project, will take place on .February 12th, with a free kick-off concert in the Fillmore Plaza, featuring the legendary Bobbie Webb & his Smooth Blues Band. The concert will be followed by a festive New Orleans processional down the Fillmore Corridor, culminating at the Mardi Gras Masquerade Ball.

The Mardi Gras Masquerade Ball at the West Bay Conference Center, 1290 Fillmore, is the crown jewel of San Francisco’s Fat Tuesday celebration, featuring Adrian Costa & The Blues Persuasion Band. Guests will enjoy an evening of New Orleans style food, dancing to DJ Bobbie A, a costume contest, raffles, and plenty of partying.

Advance purchase tickets are $35 per person or $60 for couples. At the door, tickets are $45 per individual and $70 for couples. Ticket price include admission to the Masquerade Ball, dinner and a beverage. The purchase of a $10 wristband will allow those not attending the ball to enjoy specials offered by numerous Fillmore restaurants & clubs along the Fillmore Corridor. About the Village Project

Adrian Williams is the founder of The Village Project, a youth service organization focusing on education and cultural enrichment for youth and their families in the Western Addition. The Village Project also produces Grilling in the ’MO, A Senior Moment and Seven Days of Kwanzaa Celebration, which last year was held in 14 different venues.
