CommunityGrows is currently recruiting BEETS interns for the Spring 2013 Session!

BEETS (Band of Environmentally Educated and Employable Teens) is a green job training program for 15-19 year olds, primarily living in the Western Addition neighborhood of San Francisco.

BEETS gain experience:


  • working in community gardens and parks
  • designing, building, and maintaining gardens
  • learning basic horticulture and garden maintenance
  • assisting and teaching garden classes
Interns also attend job training and career development workshops, educational opportunities, and field trips throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.
BEETS are:

·       15-19 years of age on January 29, 2013

·       Living in San Francisco (priority given to those living in the Western Addition)

·       Interested in gaining experience in Garden Education

·       Able to commit to the entire Spring 2013 Session: January 29 – May 1, 2013 (Tuesday and Thursday 3:30pm – 5:30pm; 2 Saturdays/Month; Additional Days and Hours as scheduled)

·       Paid ~ $8/Hour Stipend during their 100-Hour Internship
