Administrative Assistant (hayward / castro valley)


The Housing Authority of the County of Alameda (located in Hayward) is currently recruiting for an Administrative Assistant. This position primarily performs a wide variety of journey level complex administrative, secretarial and clerical duties, including but not limited to: supporting the Housing Authority’s management staff in various departments, providing information and assistance to the public, responding to requests for information, independently composing correspondence related to duties assigned, preparing agenda items and packets, transcribing minutes of meetings, and preparing and proofreading a wide variety of reports, letters, memos and statistical charts. This position is formally classified as Secretary within the Housing Authority’s classification plan.
Requires two (2) years of increasingly responsible administrative/secretarial experience and education equivalent to the completion of the twelfth (12th) grade supplemented by additional specialized secretarial training, or one (1) year in the class of Administrative Clerk in the Housing Authority of Alameda County, or some acceptable combination of experience and training that would provide the required knowledge, skill and abilities.
