The San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and other San Francisco Cityand County departments will be accepting applications for journey-level Stationary Engineers starting September 21, 2012 through October 5, 2012.   Applications will only be accepted during this time.

The Airport is looking for individuals with two years ofHigh Pressure Steam Boiler Experience (15 PSI or greater). Centrifugal chiller experience and Diesel generator experience is a plus.


Job Overview:

Journey-level Stationary Engineers are responsible for operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide variety of pumping, heating, ventilating, air conditioning, refrigeration, auxiliary plant machinery and equipment and computerized building management and maintenance systems, in a large, complex or multi-faceted facility.

Essential functions include:

  • Ensuring all equipment, machinery and systems are functioning normally and safely; complying with all applicable safety rules and regulations when operating machinery and equipment;


    ·      Operating, troubleshooting and making  repairs and adjustments to boilers, chillers, refrigeration systems, electric and diesel pumps, air handling equipment, emergency generators, air compressors, automatic doors, automatic gates, , controls (DDC, pneumatic SCADA),  people moving equipment, and other machinery; maintaining and repairing institutional instruments, furniture, equipment and specialized machines and apparatuses;


    ·      Implementing and interpreting plant operations, methods, and procedures ; preparing routine plant records and reports (CMMS);; interfacing with contractors, building tenants and the general public; and responding to potentially hazardous situations and;


    ·      Other duties as required.
