Internship and Volunteer Announcement
The San Francisco African American Chamber of Commerce is looking for 2 part-time college students who may need internship and or volunteer experience. The student will have to check with his/her school to see if they can receive credit. The volunteers must have free time and are interested in staying engaged in the business community and can bring the same or similar skill set as the requirements for the college interns. The SFAACC has two locations and interns and volunteers must be willing to be at both offices on an as needed basis.

The San Francisco African American Chamber of Commerce and its successor, the San Francisco Black Chamber of Commerce was founded in 1973 and has been a founding member of numerous other organizations, including the California Black Chamber and the National Black Chamber of Commerce. In 1996, the San Francisco Chamber was named the number one chamber in the United States by the National Black Chamber. The Chamber and Chamber Board are made up of highly diversified businesses, corporate executives and government officials.
The 2 part-time college interns must have strong administrative, social media, and marketing skills. He/she will be responsible for coordinating telephone operations, updating Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn accounts, greeting walk-in customers, and bookkeeping duties as needed.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, e. g. Word and Excel
- Knowledge of QuickBooks desired, but not required
- Excellent Telephone Skills
- Excellent People Skills
- Flexible hours Can work well independently
- The ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds
- Have a willingness to run errands and attend meetings
