Now is the time for the community of San Francisco to step up to show their appreciation and support for our service members, veterans and their families.  They made sacrifices when they were deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan and we did what we could to “Support the Troops”. In truth, there was only so much we could do for them while they were gone.

Now that they are returning in droves, they need COMMUNITY more than ever.

They need jobs, education, housing, social services, family and social support, and much more.

To meet this challenge head on we need your COMMUNITY SUPPORT!

We are planning the San Francisco Armed Forces Community Covenant (SF AFCC) Signing, and a Military and Veterans Resource Fair event at the San Francisco War Memorial Building on March 2, 2012. This event will launch our community’s commitment to our servicemembers, and continue this commitment year-round through outreach and events like the existing Veterans Town Hall, providing a full service monthly Veterans connection and community service provider’s collaboration.

This is more than a Commitment, it is a Covenant. Our mission is to develop a greater awareness of the needs of our Military members, veterans and their families who live and work in our community. The full day Resource Fair will  provide outreach by community based organizations and veterans service providers to connect and provide direct assistance to our servicemembers, their families and our veterans. There will also be a job fair,  educational seminars and a Veterans Art Show.

We need your attendance. It takes the entire community to effect change.  For this to be a successful event, we need your attendance as a community member and as a community organization. We also ask you to get the word out to your stakeholders and neighborhood about the resources available, and that all are welcome to attend and participate in the Community Covenant event. Attached is information and a flyer which we would appreciate being included in your communication with your neighborhood in newsletters, outreach and distribution lists.

Mark your calendars for March 2, 2012 and reserve a table! For more information go to the website: To RSVP contact us at; Phone: 415-745-AFCC, (415-745-2322).

Thank you for your support.
