BEETS is a positive youth development and green job-training program in San Franciscothat is currently recruiting for their Spring 2012 Session.  Attached please find a BEETS Spring 2012 Application, aswell as an informational flyer.  The deadline for returning applications is December 16 at 5pm.

 BEETS (Band of Environmentally Educated and EmployableTeens) prepares 15-19 year olds, primarily living in the Western Addition ofSan Francisco, with training and hands on experience in the field of greenjobs.  BEETS gain experienceworking in community gardens and parks, designing and building gardens, learnbasic garden maintenance, and assist with garden education classes.  Interns also attend job training andcareer development workshops, educational opportunities, and field tripsthroughout the SF Bay Area.  BEETS is a program of CommunityGrows, a project of the TIDES Center.
 BEETS are:

·      Underserved Teens, 15-19 years old on January 16, 2012

·      Living in San Francisco (priority given to thoseliving in the Western Addition)

·      Interested in gaining experience in the field ofGarden and Environmental Education.

·      Able to commit to the entire Spring 2012 Session January 17 to April 27, 2012 (Tuesday andThursday afternoons 3:30pm-5:30pm; 1-3 Saturdays/Month; Additional Days andHours as scheduled)

·      Paid ~ $8/Hour during their 100-Hour Internship
