Hello everyone-

Please see forwarded emails explaining a workshop on Wednesday, October 26
from 1-3 pm at SFUSD, 555 Franklin Street which will offer information
about the parent complaint toolkit, accessing interpretation services, and
an overview of the School Loop system and how to access and use the
system. SFUSD is encouraging staff of programs who work with Children,
Youth and Families to attend.

Helping Families to Navigate the San Francisco Unified District System:
Parent Complaint Toolkit, “School Loop” and Accessing Interpretation
Services

The San Francisco Unified School District  in close collaboration with
community-based organizations and parents have developed a toolkit to
assist parents in the process of filing complaints and voicing concerns
to the SFUSD. Come and learn more about the toolkit and how to use it.

The Schoo Loop is an important web-based tool that parents can use keep
track of their child’s progress in school. Learn about how to assist
parents in using this tool to obtain attendance and grade reports as well
as other important information that they can use to better support their
child’s education

This training will also include a workshop about the interpretation and
translation services available at the SFUSD and how to access them.

The workshop will be facilitated by SFUSD staff

Who should attend:
 *
Family Support management and direct service staff
 *   Staff of other programs who work with parents, children, and youth

Participants will:

 *   Learn about the new complaint filing toolkit for parents that the
SFUSF has developed in conjunction with parents and community-based
organizations
 *   Learn more about language interpretation serivces available to
parents at the SFUSD and how to access them
 *   Learn how to access the different departments within the SFUSD and
more!
