The Family ViolenceLaw Center locatedin Oakland, CA has partnered with national nonprofit search firm People &Systems to hire their next dynamic Executive Director.



The Family Violence LawCenter seeks to end family violence in Alameda County by providing support andadvocacy for survivors of domestic violence, changing individual and communityperceptions about relationship abuse, and advocating for change within thelegal, health, education, and criminal justice systems.

 Over the course ofmore than 30 years, the skilled, dedicated staff and volunteers of FVLC haveplayed an integral role in changing how domestic violence is perceived,addressed and prevented in Alameda County. With the support of our communitypartners, donors, and foundations, we are transforming the community’s responseto an issue

that touches thelives of countless women, children and men. Together, we can create a futurewithout domestic violence. 


Are you anexecutive-level nonprofit generalist seeking an opportunity to provideleadership, vision and strategic direction for a highly regarded agency ($1.5million+ budget) focusing on board development, increased fundraising capacityand the continued delivery of quality programs?  Are measured outcomes and theformation of meaningful relationships the cornerstone of your management styleand success? This position allows you to join the efforts of a high-functioningexecutive team operating with solid internal infrastructure to strategicallygrow the organization into the thought-leader it is poised to become.

As the ExecutiveDirector, you will guide the development and implementation of plans, ensuringbest practices; focusing on board development, finances/budgets, fundraising,program delivery, staff recruitment/development, PR outreach andcommunications. Your content knowledge, exceptional interpersonal style andeffort will help to identify and cultivate diverse individuals and corporate aswell as community leaders in the region to form relationships that will

help advance/achievethe organization’s mission.  Your administrative, fundraising and programmaticexpertise will facilitate the constant evolution and growth of quality outcomesthat change countless lives every day.



This positionrequires a mission focused professional, an advanced degree (e.g. J.D., publichealth, nonprofit administration, social work, etc.) or related experience and5+ years of senior level nonprofit management experience.  Prior experiencewith fundraising, operational planning/execution, and the complexities ofpersonnel management are a must.
