As many of you know at the beginning of this summer MUNI offered free fast passes to low-income youth for three months. Although this program was successful, how amazing would it be if MUNI was free for all youth, year round. A group of different CBO’s and advocacy groups have been working closely with City Hall, MUNI, the MTA, and the school district to figure out how to actually make this happen.

At the next MiCoCo gathering, August 25th at 11am @ Valencia Gardens (390 Valencia, corner of 15th St. and Valencia St.) Bob Allen, Program Director of Transportation and Housing at Urban Habitat, and Steve Williams, Co-Executive Director of POWER, will be presenting on this exciting effort, and how you and your organizations can help make free muni for all youth of our city a reality.

We are aiming for this to happen this academic year and we want to do it asap. But we need your help to make this happen!

Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns and hopefully I will see you Thursday August 25th.

Also please Forward this message to anyone who would like to learn more about this effort.
