The San Francisco Unified School District has partnered with the Department of Public Health to offer a FREE Tdap vaccination  whooping cough (pertussis) booster shot) clinic open to all students and will be hosted at:

When & Where:
May 14, 2011 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm (vaccinations) | 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm (resource fair)
John O’Connell High School
2355 Folsom Street, SF

We are asking for your support and participation to help make this clinic an event with a larger impact and purpose for the Mission District community. We will also be providing families with a wide range of Health/ Educational Resources.

Why are we hosting a clinic:
A new California school immunization law, called AB 354, requires ALL students entering 7th through 12th grades for the 2011-2012 school year to show proof of a whooping cough (pertussis) booster shot, called Tdap, before entering school. Students who have not received this booster shot prior to the beginning of the school year will not be allowed to start school.

Who should attend this event:
Children that have NOT received the booster: specifically students entering 7th-12th grades in fall 2011.

How you can support the event:

  • Help promote the event by sharing the information with your clients and participants
  • Participate by tabling your organization’s services

How you can participate in the event:
Table and host the services that your organization or agency offers, offer in-take opportunities and advertise other topic related events in the community.

The last Tdap clinic that was held at Roosevelt Middle in March drew over 500 people. Help us increase the number of attendees and make this event an opportunity that goes beyond just one vaccination!
