The Cancer Prevention Institute of California will host its 10th Annual Allison Taylor Holbrooks/Barbara Jo Johnson Breast Cancer Conference on Saturday, March 5, 2011, at the Golden Gate Club, The Presidio, in San Francisco. This one day conference is for breast cancer survivors, families, friends, and healthcare professionals. The conference format includes a general morning session and nine (9) afternoon breakout sessions. This program will provide information about the new and practical information about living with a diagnosis of breast cancer.

General session topics: clinical updates, patient perspectives, and challenges and promises of change. Breakout sessions will address: triple negative breast cancer, managing treatment side effects, sexuality and intimacy, lymphedema, young women’s issues, family and patient support, nutrition, reconstructive surgery, treatment of DCIS, and living with metastatic disease. The conference faculty includes patients and individuals from Bay Area medical institutions, including Stanford, UCSF, California Pacific Medical Center, Palo Alto Medical Foundation, Marin General Hospital, Alexander Medical Group, private practice, and the Cancer Prevention Institute of California.
