Gateway Middle School–a new small, public middle school–will open in August 2011, and is currently accepting applications for its inaugural 6th grade class of 100 students.
Gateway Middle School will offer a rigorous educational program to a small number of students. At full capacity it will serve 300 students, grades 6 – 8. Continuing the mission of Gateway High School, Gateway Middle School will offer an emphasis on core academic skills, a commitment to identifying and supporting students’ unique learning styles and needs, a diverse learning community, and a commitment to preparing all students for competitive high schools and colleges.
Students who are interested in applying to Gateway Middle School can find the application on the website at www.gatewayhigh.org/middleschool. The deadline is February 18, 2011.
Also on the website there is a brief summary of Enrollment FAQ’s to answer many questions about the enrollment process, including the enrollment calendar, application instructions, and a list of information nights and day-time school tours.
