A new entry level Solar Thermal Training was added for January 2011. Also, the Energy Efficiency and Administrative Assistant Trainings are now entry level.

The following is an overview of all of the TrainGreenSF Sector Academy Training Tracks. Please carefully review each of the program descriptions for eligibility requirements, training dates, and how to apply.

Spring 2011 Entry Level Energy Efficiency Training
January 18-May 27, 2011; 20 hours per week

The CCSF Energy Efficiency training programs prepare students for jobs in the energy efficiency and auditing industry.  The program covers energy efficiency concepts, auditing principles and techniques, and weatherization skills. No previous construction experience is necessary.

Eligibility Requirements:
· Age 18 or older
· Ability to speak and understand conversational English
· High School Diploma or GED
· 10th grade math and English level
· Ability to move in small spaces (e.g. attics and crawl spaces)

Spring 2011 Entry Level Solar Thermal Training
January 18-May 27, 2011; 20 hours per week

The CCSF Solar Thermal training program prepares students for jobs in the solar hot water industry. The program covers basic construction skills construction safety, plumbing, blueprint reading and design and installation of solar thermal (solar hot water) systems. No previous construction experience is necessary.

Eligibility Requirements:
· Age 18 or older
· Ability to speak and understand conversational English
· High School Diploma or GED
· 10th grade math and English level
· Ability to move in small spaces (e.g. attics and crawl spaces)

Spring 2011 Entry Level Administrative Assistant/Back Office Training
January 18-May 27, 2011; 20 hours per week
The CCSF training program prepares students for administrative assistant positions within solar, energy efficiency and green companies. Skills covered will include: customer service, keyboarding, Microsoft Office and Excel, business English, and more. Students will receive workplace simulation practice and introduction to green industries.

Eligibility Requirements:
· Age 18 or older
· High School Diploma or GED
· Ability to speak and understand conversational English
· 9th grade math and English level

Fall 2010 Recycling and Resource Recovery Trainings
January 1 – February 11, 2011; February 14-March 25, 2011; March 28-May 6, 2011
Monday- Friday 8:00am-12:00pm
The SF Clean City Recycling and Resource Recovery Training curriculum aims to provide environmental literacy and vocational skills training through classroom, active practice, and field trip settings in the waste reduction, recycling, reuse, and recovery fields, in preparation for applying for and working in a related green collar job.

Eligibility Requirements:
· Age 18 or older
· Ability to speak and understand conversational English
· 8th grade math and English level
· Ability to lift 20 pounds
· Ability to walk continuously for up to two hours

Spring 2011 Transportation Training
Open enrollment class, 10-12 weeks long; 20 hour week
The Goodwill Transportation Training prepares students for commercial driver’s license (CDL A) with passenger endorsement. The training is a combination of classroom lecture covering customer service, industry standards, Department of Transportation regulations, and safety protocols along with environmentally efficient driving and vehicle maintenance practices. Students receive hands-on training using a state of the art driving simulator and behind the wheel driving instruction. Students are accompanied by the instructor to the commercial driving test.

Eligibility Requirements:
· San Francisco resident
· Age 22 or older
· Ability to speak and understand conversational English
· 7th grade math and English level
· Class C license with clean DMV record
· Ability to pass DOT drug test and physical
