The San Francisco Chapter of the California Grand Jurors’ Association is now scheduling presentations from October 2010 through March 2011 to educate and outreach to citizens interested in serving on the civil grand jury for the 2011-2012 session. Neighborhood groups, business associations, religious bodies or any other group can schedule a presentation by past civil grand jurors.

A program can be educational and teach the history of the California civil grand jury, how state law governs how a jury functions, and what must occur after a report is issued by a jury.  An outreach presentation can explain the application process for citizens interested in serving on the civil grand jury, answer questions about the time commitment, and explain how issues are selected.

A program/presentation can be both educational and outreach. The host group would determine the content as well as the length of a program/presentation.

To set up a presentation date, please e-mail cgjassn@gmail.com or call Karen at 415-922-5300. Speakers are available for both day and evening presentations any day of the week from October 2010 through March 2011.
