“The Battle to Achieve”
“We don’t need more statistics to tell us that our children are in a battle to obtain the American Dream, to achieve more than their parents have, and to gain the fundamental tools needed to access social, and financial freedom.”
Every battle benefits from a sound leader with a solid strategy to excel and win.
Parents are the leaders who develop character, compassion, and a sense of identity.
Teachers are passionate, creative, flexible and innovative, but they need your help. Together we can prepare our children for the future. Young women and men who are capable and ready to meet the demands of a changing world.
Please Join us along with guest speaker Dr. Shawn Ginwright Ph.d at Civic Center Secondary School on Thursday, October 28, 2010 at 6:30 pm until 8:00 as we dialogue on the battle to achieve.
Dr. Shawn Ginwright is a leading national expert on African American youth, and youth development. He is an Associate Professor of Education in the Africana Studies Department and Senior Research Associate for the Cesar Chavez Institute for Public Policy at San Francisco State University.
